Seventh Circuit Court District

Jackson, Mississippi

Job Description:

The Hinds County Pre-trial Diversion Program Director will be responsible for monitoring individuals participating in the Hinds County Pre-Trial Diversion Program (PTD), operated by and through the Hinds County District Attorney’s Office.

Job Responsibilities:

The PTD Program Director is responsible for conducting initial interviews with perspective program candidates and performing criminal record checks to determine if an individual qualifies for the diversion program. Once a candidate is approved for the program, the PTD Program Director is responsible for monitoring the participants’ progress through the program and maintaining the relevant records and data of the individuals progress and successful completion. This includes monthly check-ins with Diversion Program participants; maintaining documentation of pertinent case information; collecting monthly fees, fines, and restitution payments from Diversion Program participants; tracking case referrals from prosecutors to the program; processing and assisting participants with the filing of expungement petitions after successful completion of the diversion program; and aiding participating individuals in finding employment and meeting other requirements necessary for program success.

A) Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university

or

Associates Degree from an accredited two-year college or related field and two years of experience directly related to the duties of a Pretrial Program Director

or

Graduation from a standard four-year high school or equivalent (GED) and four years of course of study experience directly related to the duties of a Pretrial Program Director

B) Required Qualification:

The following qualifications are required: ability to work effectively under pressure and adhere to deadlines; a team player with ability to working independently; a demonstrated capacity to handle multiple tasks and projects; an excellent organization and time management skills; knowledge of Hinds County community resources; demonstrated experience with criminal offenders; ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive information; proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; computer and internet literacy; excellent verbal and written communication skills; with diverse groups of people, who may have conflicting interests and opinions; and ability to maintain a professional business demeanor at all time.
