GENERAL STATEMENT OF THE FUNCTION

Service and maintain Hinds Community College grounds to all applicable standards. To perform duties across the campuses for grounds maintenance but not exempt from doing other physical plant work and any other general maintenance needs for the college.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each

EDUCATION AND / OR EXPERIENCE

Mandatory : High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Training or experience in general landscape maintenance.

Preferred : 3 years of related experience and / or training or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of fertilizers and pesticides.

Heavy equipment experience.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Maintain knowledge of diversity-related issues, legislation, and best practices.

• Clean and supply designated building areas (dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning ceiling vents, restroom cleaning etc)
• Perform and document routine inspection and maintenance activities
• Carry out heavy cleansing tasks and special projects
• Notify management of occurring deficiencies or needs for repairs
• Make adjustments and minor repairs
• Stock and maintain supply rooms
• Cooperate with the rest of the staff
• Follow all health and safety regulations
