From smartphone capabilities like Digital Key to Hilton Connected Room that allow for integrated entertainment, temperature, and lighting controls, Hilton’s Global Technology team is responsible for creating the hospitality experience of the future – for our guests, owners, and Team Members. Through innovative technology development and deployment, this team ensures Hilton has the technology needed to support our continued global growth while remaining at the forefront of hospitality technology innovation. 

What will I be doing?As the Senior Software Engineer, iOS, you will have to play a part in the design, development, documentation, and troubleshooting of our Hilton Honors iOS application and new technology projects involving iOS. You should have a real passion for the latest technology trends and be willing to share new technology opportunities with the broader team.

• Implement new requirements within our Agile delivery methodology while following our established architectural principles
• Write clean, concise code that is stable, extensible, and unit-tested appropriately
• Communicate frequently and effectively with other engineers on the team in addition to our product managers, scrum masters, and creative team
• Build working proofs of concept with detailed documentation
• Debug and resolve production issues as needed

To fulfill this role successfully, you should demonstrate the following minimum qualifications:

• Five (5) years of professional experience in technology or a related field
• Two (2) years of full-cycle software development. Experience should include all of the following: design, coding, testing, release, and maintenance
• One (1) year with iOS application development with at least one app shipped to the Apple App Store
• Experience with Xcode (interface Builder, Instruments)
• Experience with Swift and Objective-C
• Experience with UIKit, Core Animation, KVO, Core Data, URL loading, and web services
• Experience with architectural design patterns such as MVVM and MVC
• Familiarity with Agile software tools such as JIRA

It would be useful in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree, or Associate’s Degree plus 6 years of Technology related experience, or High School Degree/GED plus 12 years of Technology related experience
• Seven (7) years of professional experience in technology or a related field
• Three (3) years with iOS application development with multiple apps shipped to the Apple App Store
• Two (2) years of full-cycle software development in an Agile environment
• Knowledge of Test Driven Development
