Process all soiled hotel bed linens, terry and food and beverage table linens by operating all laundry/dry cleaning machinery in accordance to hotel's standards. Clean, press and finish staff and guest garments, as well as designated guest room fabrics and articles.

Qualifications:

• Ability to satisfactorily communicate in job-related English.
• High school graduate or equivalent vocational training.
• Previous experience in a similar position.
• Knowledge of laundry/dry cleaning equipment and chemical handling.
• Knowledge of finishing techniques for all types of fabrics.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1) Use cleaning chemicals according to OSHA regulations and hotel requirements.
2) Adhere to all Health Department, sanitation and safety regulations as required by the hotel.
3) Set up and organize workstation with designated supplies and equipment; replenish as needed throughout the shift.
4) Check the working condition and cleanliness of laundry and dry cleaning machinery and equipment.
5) Monitor usage of chemicals and water to maximize consumption.
6) Separate soiled bed linen/terry/food & beverage table linens, bundle and document amounts of each bundle according to departmental standards.
7) Sort all stained/damaged items and determine status for rewash or discard; maintain continuous inventory of discard items.
8) Remove all debris on floors after each sorting.
9) Weigh each bundle of soiled items; place designated weights in the laundry machines.
10) Operate all laundry machines and add designated chemicals in accordance with specified amounts, times and temperatures for the particular articles to be washed.
11) Remove washed articles from the washing machine when the cycle is complete. Inspect cleanliness and place in clean linen carts.
12) Transport cart of washed linen to dryers and place in dryers according to load size. Set dryers to designated times and temperatures for the particular articles to be dried.
13) Remove articles from dryer when cycle is complete and place in clean linen cart. Transport cart to proper work area for finishing.
14) Operate the ironing and folder machines according to specifications. While processing cleaned articles through the machines, check the cleanliness and condition of each; separate damaged/stained articles.
15) Fold cleaned articles and stack into designated amounts by type and size. Place stacks in specified areas for distribution.
16) Issue clean table linens and service towels/rags to F&B personnel according to departmental procedures.
17) Document and process guest requests for laundry, dry cleaning and pressing of garments, hotel uniforms and designated management garments in accordance with departmental specifications.
18) Maintain accurate poundage records of dry cleaning and laundry according to departmental procedures.
19) Report faulty equipment, damaged garments/linens, shortages, maintenance needs, safety hazards and problems to supervisor.
20) Remove lint and debris from dryer filters and change filters as specified in departmental procedures.
21) Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas throughout shift.
22) Transport trash containers to dumpster, empty and clean according to standards. Adhere to recycling procedures.
23) Breakdown and clean work areas/equipment according to departmental standards.
24) Use designated chemicals, supplies and equipment to clean laundry room floor.
25) Maintain cleanliness and organization of supply/storage closets in accordance with departmental procedures.
26) Restock work areas for next shift as assigned.
27) Handle guest complaints by following the instant pacification procedures and ensuring guest satisfaction.
28) Successful completion of the training/certification process.
