Hilton Lake Las Vegas is Hiring a Housekeeping Supervisor (evenings) Near Henderson, NV

This position is for Evenings, 3pm-11pm

A Leadership role responsible for assisting the Housekeeping Manager and all rooms Managers in the successful ownership and operational execution of Housekeeping.

QUALIFICATIONS:

4 years Housekeeping experience in preferably in a 4 Star property

2 years Housekeeping Supervisory experience

Ability to satisfactorily communicate in English with guests, management, staff, and co-workers to their understanding.

Ability to provide legible communications

Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations

Knowledge of effective office organizational practices

Ability to maintain strict confidentiality

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

To take complete ownership and accountability of a daily planning and preparation phase.

To take an ownership, “stewardship” position within the department and hotel to ensure operational excellence.

To know, comply with, and enforce all hotel and departmental standards, policies, and procedures.

To assist in the writing of additional standards, policies, and procedures for the department.

Promote and support effective departmental and hotel communication through the use of phones, voice-mail, pagers, radios, written correspondence and verbal communication. Respond to all pages and messages promptly.

Promote and maintain effective, confidential, secure record keeping

Maintain a complete knowledge of proper forecasting and scheduling as well as complete, accurate, and timely payroll procedures

Maintain a complete working knowledge of: Daily house-count, arrivals/departures, V.I.P.’s, scheduled in-house group names, background, activities, locations, and times as well as special requests/arrangements., Correct use and maintenance of equipment., All department policies and service procedures

Attends, helps, participates or leads all meetings prescribed by the Housekeeping Manager.

Assist and complete schedule, making all necessary copies, and posting all necessary sheets or communications.

Prepares late/absent forms to communicate with staff.

Prepares written progressive disciplinary communications to share with staff members.

Completes a weekly supply requisition for items, respective to their floor and area to be submitted to the Housekeeping Manager.

Delegate specific primary duties and side-duties to respective staff members and follow up with coaching, praise, or guidance.

Inspects rooms for Team Members using the random sampling tools.

Ensure and coordinate breaks for all assigned staff members.

Inspect grooming and attire of staff and make recommendations for immediate rectification of any deficiencies.

Provide warm welcome, and anticipation of guest needs throughout their stay.

Anticipate the needs of guests and direct the staff in complying with those needs. Observe guest reactions and confer frequently with service staff to ensure guests satisfaction.

Constantly monitor staff performance in all phases of service and job functions, ensuring that all procedures are carried out to the departmental standards and rectify any deficiencies with respective personnel.

Promote positive internal and external guest relations at all times. Foster and promote a cooperative working environment, maximizing productivity and employee morale.

Ensure that all side duties for staff are properly completed before staff is allowed to sign out or leave.

Conduct training of staff as assigned.

Provide feedback on staff performance. Report disciplinary problems to the Housekeeping Manager and participate in the counseling of employees.

Assist in writing and conduct assigned employee appraisal/evaluations in accordance with established hotel policies.

Perform any required office work prior to day beginning and after staff have left their areas.

Perform walk-through of all areas before, during, and after operation to ensure uncompromising levels of cleanliness are achieved and to ensure all standards are meet. To include all reports (random sampling, worker to worker matrix and all Quality tools used to insure the progression to a defect free environment in the Housekeeping Department.

Maintaining inventory and tracking of all equipment (i.e. carts, brooms, vacuums, etc.)
