Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Provide direction and leadership to associates in the food and beverage departments.
  • Provides courteous guest service by responding promptly and efficiently to inquiries, requests, and complaints.
  • Ensure that food and beverage standards exceed expectations.
  • Coordinate the ordering of food inventory and other food and beverage related supplies.
  • Monitors food and beverage costs, sets prices, and analyzes financial performance.
  • Assists the Sales and Catering Department in developing menus and maximizing revenues for all functions.
  • Organizes all food and beverage promotions and advertising.
  • Make recommendations regarding food and beverage budget and manages expenses within approved budget constraints.
  • Manages the human resources function in all areas of food and beverage in order to attract, retain, and motivate associates: hire, develop, empower, coach and counsel, conduct performance reviews, resolve problems, and provide open communication for all associates.
  • Schedules associate’s in accordance with forecasted business levels; adjusts staffing as necessary for sudden changes in business levels.
  • Maintains information and communication sources to include log book, and other forms of communication.
  • Assist in developing emergency action plans, and coordinate with other departments to implement plans.
  • Attends all meetings as required.
  • Follows established safety procedures, use of personal protective equipment and sharps policies.
  • Provides assistance to other departments of the hotel to contribute to its smooth operation.
  • Maintains a clean, pleasant, and professional image to guests and employees.
  • Complies with all hotel policies and procedures.
