Position Overview:

The Food Runner is responsible for assisting guest that visit our restaurant with guest services including but not limited to running meals prepared by the kitchen to the appropriate table in a safe and timely manner to ensure guest satisfaction. 

Organizational Structure:

Department: Food and Beverage

Status: Variable, Non-Exempt (Hourly)

Reports To: Restaurant Manager

Supervision: Restaurant Management

Pay Structure: Hourly, Paid Bi-weekly

Essential Job Functions:

• Maintain cleanliness of restaurant throughout shift and especially during peak hours.
• Maintain station cleanliness & organization throughout shift.
• Complete all assigned opening, running, & closing side-work.
• Communication between kitchen and restaurant staff to keep flow of food orders running smoothly.
• Maintain communication between hostess stand, & servers to maintain accuracy of wait times.
• Keep stock of any sauces, china or silverware needed at expo line.
• Assist servers as needed.
• Help keep the restaurant a safe working environment for guests as well as associates.
• Successfully complete other duties as assigned.
• Provide general information about this Hotel, this Restaurant, Sister Hotels, Sister Restaurants and the Virginia Beach Oceanfront Area.
• Assist with training of new associates
• Report any guest challenges to management's attention IMMIDIATELY 

Qualifications:

• General Education High School Diploma recommended
• General Education High School GED Required
• Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
• Prior Experience Host/Hostess is preferred but not required 
• Able to successfully operate a restaurant reservation system
