Overview

The role of the Bus or Shuttle Driver is to transport students and other passengers to and from College events and other sites within designated route(s) and to ensure the safety of the passengers while in the vehicle. The Bus/Shuttle Driver is responsible for the safe operation of the vehicle and for ensuring the safety of the passengers while meeting established schedules.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education and Experience

A High School Diploma or GED is required. Prior experience or knowledge sufficient to demonstrate the ability to perform the job successfully is also required. Driver must possess a valid Chauffeur License in order to operate the vehicles.

Personal Characteristics The Bus Driver interacts with many areas of campus life. A clean and neat appearance and a pleasant relationship that is supportive of the College Mission are essential. This relationship needs to be pleasant, supportive and professional, while maintaining confidentiality.
