Physical Education Teacher | 0.5 FTE | Date Needed: 08/19/2024 | 10 Month CalendarInternal & External applicants must submit: Talent Ed application, current resume, one current letter of professional reference.All External applicants must provide a copy of current licenseThe salary schedule for the 24-25 school year is currently under negotiation and will be updated upon settlementHiring Administrator: Teresa VazquezGeneral DutiesPhysical education is an academic subject and, as such, demands the same education rigor as other core subjects. Physical education provides students with a planned, sequential, K-12 standards-based program of curricula and instruction designed to develop motor skills, knowledge and behaviors for active living, physical fitness, sportsmanship, self-efficacy and emotional intelligence.
Essential Requirements
Essential Requirements
- A valid State of Oregon Teaching License appropriate for the position
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education from an accredited institution
- The ability to follow oral and written instructions
- The ability to effectively work and communicate with students, parents, and school personnel from diverse cultures and/or backgrounds
- The ability to work harmoniously with others
- Proficient oral and written communication skills in English
- Proficient in the use of computer and Internet based applications, including but not limited to email and systems applications
- The ability to learn new automated systems as they are brought online by the District
- Possess and maintain a current CPR and First Aid card
- Demonstrate a strong command of the physical skills necessary to teach a variety of sports, games, and activities
- Maintain integrity of confidential information relating to students, staff, or district patrons
- Bilingual English/Spanish required (bilingual is defined as fluency in reading, writing and speaking in two languages as determined by District screening tool)
