Hillpointe Corporate Management is Hiring a Project Engineer Near Athens, GA

Job Description:

The Senior Project Engineer is responsible for leading and assisting less-experienced staff in the design and production of construction plans, technical calculations, reports, and permitting for Hillpointe, LLC’s multi-family development projects that occur in Georgia, Florida, and South Carolina. This position is a unique opportunity to be a part of an “In-House” Engineering Department that designs projects for a southeast regional development firm. Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and production of construction plans and permit submittal documents
  • Provide mentorship to Project Engineers and assist in skill development
  • Develop conceptual site and grading plans
  • Perform site hydraulic analysis and design of stormwater management facilities
  • Develop detailed site grading plans and earthwork calculations
  • Develop erosion and sedimentation control plans
  • Develop utility plans, including water and sanitary sewer design
  • Develop tree management/landscaping plans
  • Coordinate with agency/municipality staff, other engineers/consultants, architects, project team, contractor, and ownership
  • Perform other duties as determined by the Engineering Manager and/or Director of Engineering
  • Participate in the continuous improvement of Engineering Team and Company practices which align with our mission statement

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Landscape Architecture, or equivalent
  • Experience: 4-6 years
  • Software Proficiency: AutoCAD Civil 3D, Hydraflow (or equivalent), Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, Smartsheets
  • Preferred: Professional Engineering License in Georgia, Florida, and/or South Carolina
  • Advanced understanding of site grading, storm drainage, erosion and sediment control, and stormwater design principles
  • Advanced skills in leading the design of civil-site projects with experience in developing grading plans, utilities, hydrology and hydraulics, and roadway design
  • Strong desire to learn with an interest in site design/land development
  • Excellent communication, attention to detail, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Self-starter with strong work ethic and ability to work independently with little direction as well as part of a team
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and tight deadlines
