Hiller Companies is Hiring a Fire Alarm Technician Near Sandy, UT

American Fire Equipment Sales & Service is a division of The Hiller Companies, a national leader in the fire protection and security industry. There is an immediate opening for a qualified Fire Alarm Technician in Sandy, Utah.

Responsibilities:

  • Must be able to identify system/ component deficiencies according to NFPA 72 as well as fire alarm system testing and inspection in commercial buildings compliance to fire and building code standards
  • Must be able to respond to service requests, accurately diagnose fire alarm system malfunctions and adjust, repair or replace equipment as needed to bring into compliance
  • Must be able to communicate with customers to assure that any system deficiencies are promptly reported and corrected

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience
  • NICET Level 1 or higher in Fire Alarms
  • Must be Utah Fire Alarm Certified or able to acquire this certification
  • Working knowledge for programming and installation of Notifier Products
  • Working knowledge of fire alarm and/or fire suppression systems
  • Experience in the field of testing, inspecting and performing maintenance on fire alarm/ booster panels and systems
  • Ability to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as working above ceiling spaces, crawl spaces, climbing a ladder, high lift equipment, etc.
  • Valid Utah driver’s license and good driving record
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and also as part of a team
  • Pass a background check
  • Pass a drug screen
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States for any employer. No sponsorship is available for this position
