IACT Birthright Coordinator

OSU Hillel

Role Overview

Immersive experiences like Birthright Israel often comprise the most transformative moments in a Jewish college student’s journey, and our IACT Birthright Israel Coordinator will be the lead professional in ensuring that our campus’ Birthright Israel experience is more than just a trip. From registration, to staffing the trips, to post-trip follow up, Birthright Israel will be your fundamental framework for engaging students and deepening their connection to Jewish life on campus. This is a unique opportunity for someone who is skilled in building relationships, social media, organizing, marketing, event planning, and program development. The ideal candidate must be able to demonstrate outstanding interpersonal skills and previous successful implementation of creative ideas, either from their own college experience or previous employment.

The IACT Birthright Coordinator will report to the Strategic Engagement Director and will work closely with the broader student facing team to reach our goals of engaging all Jewish students on campus in ways that are meaningful to them. This position requires in-person work at OSU Hillel and on campus.

What You’ll Do

  • Identify and connect with students who are under-engaged and/or interested in participating in a Birthright Israel trip.
  • One-on-one engagement with students, particularly those with 2 or fewer prior connection points with Hillel.
  • Spearhead all marketing pertaining to our Birthright Israel trips in partnership with the Hillel marketing interns.
  • Coordinate and support students through Birthright Israel registration and pre-trip preparation.
  • Staff the Winter and Summer Birthright Israel Trips.
  • Build community through connecting students to like-minded peers and meaningful opportunities
  • Recruit and oversee a cohort of student leaders to broaden your engagement work on campus and assist with Israel experience recruitment.
  • Serve as an active member of the broader team by staffing Shabbat Dinners and other Hillel-wide experiences, including holiday celebrations and large-scale social events

What You’ve Accomplished

  • Bachelor’s degree required and 0-3 years of relevant work experience

What You’ll Bring to the Job

  • Passion for connecting with people from different backgrounds, with the goal of building authentic and meaningful relationships
  • Excellent communication and active listening skills
  • Commitment to Hillel’s pluralistic vision of Jewish life
  • A natural ability to network and build relationships with a wide variety of people.
  • Ability to manage projects with many moving parts; to set timetables and adhere to deadlines
  • Working both independently and on a team

What You’ll Receive

  • Competitive salary in the non-profit marketplace. The salary range for this role is $42,000-50,000, commensurate with experience.
  • A comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, Group Supplemental Retirement Annuity (GSRA), pension plan, life insurance, Long Term Disability (LTD), Flexible Spending Plan, generous vacation/sick time, and parental leave
  • Great professional development, mentoring, and skill building opportunities
  • Travel regionally and abroad
  • Dedicated and fun colleagues who will support you along the way
