Hillel International is Hiring a Director, Solo Pro and Small Campus Support Near Washington, DC

The Campus Support Director (CSD) team is dedicated to building strong and trusting relationships with campus professionals, supporting the ongoing improvement and growth of local Hillels, and providing expert guidance and mentorship to local Hillel leaders. CSDs help local Hillels strategically access and leverage the resources of Hillel’s Schusterman International Center and national partners in donor relations, fundraising support, executive searches, grants, engagement strategies, and more.

The Director, Solo Pro and Small Campus Support is a position for an experienced Hillel leader who has proven success in a solo pro or small campus Hillel environment. You will work with a vibrant portfolio of campuses with high growth opportunities in advancement, student engagement, and university relationships. You’ll serve as a liaison between student-facing divisions at Hillel International and small campus directors and staff and be responsible for supporting new hires, developing best practices for training and onboarding, and building impactful cohort experiences. Additionally, you will:

  • Develop tools and templates that can be shared and scaled across campuses, focusing on student engagement strategies that optimize breadth, depth, and impact
  • Train solo pros and small campus directors to build and maintain thriving campus environments that effectively cultivate Jewish pluralism
  • Facilitate monthly cohort learning opportunities on critical topics and themes affecting the movement
  • Partner to develop and design strategic advancement plans to cultivate donors
  • Effectively use student population and engagement data to assess impact and improve programming, operations, and identify strategic priorities
  • Improve fundraising strategies so small campus Hillels can grow adequate dollars per student to support excellence and improve student-to-staff ratios
  • Provide consultative support to prepare for conversations with University Administrators and key leaders
  • Strategize in providing overall optimal support for university embedded Hillels, Federation embedded Hillels, and small 501c3 Hillels

What you’ll bring: 

  • BA required, as is 5 years of professional experience and previous Hillel experience.
  • Experience creating a venture or project from scratch and building it into something successful and sustainable 
  • Proven track record of success in facilitating organizational management, change, and development 
  • Comfort presenting and facilitating board meetings, retreats, and meetings for high-level leadership, university administration, and the field 
  • Experience with lay leadership development and collaboration 
  • Excellent written, editorial, and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to cultivate strong relationships, collaborate, influence, and persuade. 
  • Proven success with multi-tasking and working collaboratively and cross-departmentally. 
  • Familiarity with the Jewish community and genuine respect for the diversity of Jewish life.
  • Independence, reliability, and discretion 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Office suite, Google for Work, video conferencing tools, and social media. 

Reporting line: The Director, Solo Pro and Small Campus Support will report directly to Danielle Leshaw, Campus Support Director, and will work collaboratively across interdepartmental teams at Hillel International.
