Responsibilities

This position is responsible for patient care coordination on designated shifts for the HMC campus in patient care areas in collaboration with the administrator on call. To insure quality patient care consistent with the philosophy and objectives of the organization, this position provides direct operational support for the hospital on a shift basis, acts as a clinical resource person for the staff and acts as a liaison between staff and management. The house supervisor works with the staffing office as needed to assure the best possible patient care is given at all times. The house supervisor provides the communication link between manager, staff, patients, physicians and others. This position assists in patient placement as requested by transfer coordinator and in the planning of emergency nursing interventions. The position facilitates problem resolution and collaborates with administration, and the Medical Director in assessing quality of care provided, identifying staff strengths and weaknesses, and in evaluation of staff performance. Interface with physicians and interdisciplinary teams for comprehensive care planning is also required.
