**Job Summary**

Battelle is seeking a **Systems Administrator (Linux)** for a position located in **Beavercreek / Dayton OH** operating between Battelles Beavercreek office and Wright Patt Air Force Base.

The System Administrator (Linux) will assist the team with administration and technical issues with both networked and standalone Linux systems. They will act as a liaison between a regional office in Beavercreek focusing on customer on-site support and the corporate headquarters in Columbus, Ohio. A key responsibility will be to maintain smooth and seamless IT operations between these entities. Core responsibilities will be administering, maintaining, refreshing, and ensuring compliance of computer assets used to support our client and team. The applicant should have demonstratable exposure and/or experience as a helpdesk resource and be willing to work directly with end-users. A successful candidate will be capable of assisting in the creation of technical presentations and reports, working semi-autonomously on open problems, and participating in client interactions and tests.

**Responsibilities**

The candidate will assist the team in establishing, using, and maintaining IT systems and networks needed for software development and data processing. These systems provide essential capabilities to researchers in a wide variety of domains including signals intelligence, cyber, and side channel analysis. The candidate will also assist with coordination between corporate and customer entities.

Responsibilities include:

Coordinate between cognizant corporate and customer entities to establish SOPs meeting the needs of existing workflows. Stakeholders include:

Customer contracted ISSM, ISSOs, and Sysadmins responsible for the client's facilities.

Battelle Corporate entities with information system (IS) compliance oversight (CIT, Security Engineering, and Government Risk Compliance).

The technical staff working at our Beavercreek facility supporting scientific computing and software development.

In addition to coordination, the individual will be responsible for providing customer IT/IA support with expert counsel when knowledge gaps occur.

Administer, maintain, refresh, and ensure compliance of compute assets.

Be cognizant of the security and accreditation of relevant networks and systems.

**Key Qualifications**

Bachelors degree in related field with 2 years of experience or masters degree in related field; or an equivalent combination of education and or experience in a related field.

Technical expertise with Linux (especially Red Hat Enterprise Linux & variants)

Experience as a Linux administrator

Willingness to work directly with end-users

The credentials necessary to mitigate cybersecurity threats and assess risk (e.g. CompTIA Security Certification, CompTIA Network Certification)

Familiarity with DISA STIG process, particularly related to Linux OS

Familiarity with DoD system hardening process

Familiarity with ISSO and ISSM processes and relevant security standards

A current TS security clearance

**Preferred Qualifications**

Familiarity with Chef or Ansible for Windows and Linux

Familiarity with setting up and maintaining virtual machines and networks

Familiarity with a cloud computing environment

Previous experience as an ISSO or relevant credentials

SCI eligibility

Experience with analog and mixed signal design such as ADC, DACs, Mixers, VCOs, Amplifiers, etc

Experience in Formal Verification techniques and tools.

Experience with emulation platforms such as Cadence Palladium.

Experience in advanced node processes 14 nm or below.
