Highway Transport Chemical is Hiring a Remote Dispatcher

Responsible for planning and routing an assigned group of company drivers and overseeing contractor relations. This must be done within the established policies and procedures of the company. Responsible for meeting established objectives and key performance metrics in conjunction with meeting the expectations of assigned drivers. Must be accessible to assigned drivers by phone, e-mail, or Mobile Communications system. Driver routing is the primary emphasis, but the position will also assist with managing day-to-day activities within the service center. Communicate with internal and external customers as needed. Location: 6210 Industrial Drive Geismar, LA 70734 Salary Range: $56,000 - $70,00 Job Duties and Responsibilities: Plan efficient routing of drivers Communicate load information to drivers Efficient planning to ensure OTD (on-time delivery) standards are met Ensure driver's HOS (hours of service) are sufficient for successful planning Responsible for keeping tractor maintenance and expirations current and scheduling services with internal and external vendors Meet or exceed budgeted driver count Meet or exceed driver turnover ratio Assure driver pay thresholds are met Make sure performance KPI (key performance indicators) are met (loaded mile percentage, order count, on duty hours, etc.) Works with Customer Service to ensure load requirements are met Other duties as assigned Education/Experience/Licenses/Certifications: High school diploma or equivalent required Bachelor’s Degree preferred 2 years' experience in transportation operations Bulk transportation preferred Skills Required: Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills Management experience preferred Strong time management and organizational skills Ability to exercise independent judgement Ability to direct and manage employees and contractors Ability to follow established policies and procedures of the company Knowledge of Federal DOT (Department of Transportation), OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration), and EPA regulations Must be able to work with interruptions and deadlines Must be able to effectively interact with internal and external customers Physical Demands/Working Conditions: Majority of time will be spent at the service center- in the office and on the yard Flexibility in scheduled hours and days worked is required Occasional weekend work and non-business hours availability is required Occasional travel to other service centers as needed It's rewarding to work in a company where people truly BELIEVE and have a passion for what they do.
