Administrative Functions Duties
*Direct the day to day functions of Nursing Assistants
*Periodically review and make recommendations for revisions of written nursing policies, procedures, manuals, objectives and philosophies
*Complete and maintain medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, charts,. resident charge slips, etc. and submit to appropriate offices or departments
*Periodically meet with assigned nursing staff in planning shifts, services, programs and activities
*Admit, transfer and discharge residents as required
*Ensure that all nursing services personnel and performing their respective duties in accordance with written policies, procedures and manuals
*Participate in developing, implementing and maintain a quality assurance program
*Participate in surveys and inspections by government agencies
*Interpret the department's policies and procedures to personnel, residents., families, visitors and government agencies as necessary
*Make reports and recommendations to the Director of Nursing Services and Administration concerning operations of the department
*Attendance as scheduled is required
Nursing Care Functions Duties
*Partner with Director of Nursing in supervising the nursing team members
*Assists with the development and leadership of the Designated Nursing Assistants (DNA)/Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA); follows Resident Centered Care model
*Participates in Care Planning meetings
*Assists with providing clinical care and not limited to; urinary cauterization, applying/changing dressings, Accu-checks, medication management/administration, admission transfer and discharge of guests/residents
*Ensures interdisciplinary notes reflect the care provided through daily random audits
*Completes timely and accurate documentation of guests/residents charts
*Completes incident reports and reports to Director of Nursing and/or Wellness Nurse
*Reviews, updates, notates in the 24 hour report & daily log to learn and document pertinent resident and community information
*Conducts effective visits/rounds at a minimum twice a day, conducts visits/rounds with physicians as necessary as assigned by DON
*Research and documents all incidents of abuse, neglect and misappropriation of funds as assigned by DON, Wellness Nurse or Executive Director
*Completes incident reports and reports them to DON
*Assists in monitoring medication records and administration
*Assists in receiving lab, x-ray and other test results and communicates appropriately
