The perfect project manager is eager to learn, will be a creative problem solver, promoter of collaboration, challenger of status quo and looking for ways to improve daily operations. In this role you will be responsible for managing large scale projects from inception to completion. You will be working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure successful delivery of products and services.
Core Tasks And Responsibilities
  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of multiple projects.
  • Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant internal stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on time, within scope and within budget.
  • Collaborate with correct business partners to ensure resource availability and allocation.
  • Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress.
  • Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques.
  • Report and escalate to management as needed.
  • Manage the relationship with the teams, business partners and relevant stakeholders.
  • Perform risk management to minimize potential risks.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
  • Track project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short and long-term goals.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans to be shared with clients and other staff members.
  • Support Change Management process by documenting requested changes, assessing their impact, and peppering necessary documentation for CAB meeting.
  • Use and continually develop leadership skills.
  • Help identify opportunities for internal process improvements.
  • Provide informal guidance or leadership support to colleagues with less experience.
  • Influence colleagues internally and external to follow best process practices.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills, Experience, And Competencies
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Business, or a related field
  • Proven working experience in project management (5 years)
  • Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills.
  • Ability independently works in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Understanding commonly known PM methodologies.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Experience with project management software tools (JIRA, Confluence Smartsheet)
Key relationships
  • Works closely with product, solution architecture and development teams.
  • Maintains effective relationships with all business partners.
  • Maintains effective relationships within own Business Division or Corporate Function.
Compensation at Pearson is influenced by many factors including skill set, level of experience, and specific location. As required by the Colorado, California, Washington State, New York State and New York City laws, the pay range for this position is as follows:
The minimum full-time salary range is between $85,000 - $95,000.
