JOB DESCRIPTION

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

To Perform this job successfully, and individual must be able to perform each essential function.

  • Supervise a team of production maintenance associates, directing maintenance and improvement activities including: the installation and maintenance of production machines and equipment, emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment, scheduled maintenance repairs, diagnose problems, repair parts, and test and make adjustment.

  • Work with the plant leadership team to develop sustainable maintenance processes that reduce overall equipment downtime.

  • Stay actively engaged with individual and team continuous improvement activities.

  • Work with manufacturing department to coordinate equipment preventative maintenance.

  • Maintain and enhance computer maintenance management system.

  • Develop and maintain an effective tool management process to reduce tool spend and increase productivity.

  • Ensure optimum allocation of capital and maintenance resources through work order prioritization in support of system demands and business objectives.

  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders that are necessary to perform required maintenance and service.

  • Review equipment maintenance records for accuracy and pertinence for equipment history.

  • Review work order/equipment maintenance trends; integrate industry trends to predict maintenance requirements.

  • Develop maintenance recommendations in support of business objectives. Participate in the preparation and administration of the maintenance budget; submit recommendations; monitor expenditures; prepare cost estimates; submit justifications for equipment; monitor budget expenditures.

  • Support inventory optimization using risk analysis and parts availability in conjunction with vendor partnering.

  • Provide reporting of maintenance work progress, associated cost information and labor allocation.

  • Develop checklists for maintenance processes including special instructions for unit and equipment outages and routine maintenance processes.

  • Identify and develop execution plans for preventative and predictive maintenance activities aimed at improving reliability and availability.

  • Use independent judgment to assign team member work duties to meet operational requirements. Make sure that team members and co-workers have the information needed to perform their job duties.

  • Supervise team members in a manner that enables growth and success through feedback, training, and encouragement. Establish performance expectations for team members and provide regular feedback and performance reviews to ensure that team members understand how their job duties support the company’s mission and have the right tools/resources to do their jobs well.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

An individual qualified for this job must be able to:

  • Demonstrate excellent project coordination skills, managing multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Complete data-based analyses of problems, develop potential casual factors, and help guide teams through root cause analysis and determination for difficult or complicated problems.

  • Lead and inspire team members; must be able to relate to and build team working relationships.

  • Operate a computer and demonstrate PC proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Effectively and professionally communicate with co-workers, team members, and internal or external customers. Present information clearly and accurately.

  • Pay attention to details and pursue quality in accomplishing work duties and tasks. Look for opportunities to reduce costs or increase productivity without reducing effectiveness.

  • Handle challenges skillfully, thoroughly, and effectively.

  • Independently take advantage of opportunities to improve or increase skills, abilities, and job knowledge.

  • Efficiently perform accurate mathematical calculations.

  • Make sure that work is delivered on time and of high quality.

  • Develop good work practices in order to get the job done.

  • Use equipment, resources, and time in an efficient and effective manner.

  • Use good judgment when making decisions.

  • Perform work in a safe manner at all times.

  • Be professional in all interactions and dealings with co-workers, internal/external customers, and vendors.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • Four years of increasingly responsible facility maintenance experience including some lead supervisory experience, or a satisfactory combination of education and experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the above duties.

  • Valid drivers’ license required.

  • Two years of college level course work in business, management, engineering, or a related field, preferred.

  • The individual will work in an office setting in the same room as other individuals. Noise levels are average for an office and include conversation and/or office equipment noise.
