Duties & Responsibilities

Prepares food in accordance with health regulations and established policies and procedures.

Reviews menus, production guides and facility diet guidelines.

Ensures food produced is appealing in accordance with approved cycle menus.

Assists in the ordering process by taking inventory of food and supplies under the direction of the food service director.

Follow the directives of the department director maintaining a professional and positive rapport with facility staff.

Ensures meals prepared are palatable, visually appealing, and appropriate for the populations needs.

Utilizes standard recipes and follows menu extensions

Maintains and records food temperatures and follows HACCP guidelines as designated by FSD.

Records temperature and equipment logs as designated by FSD.

Actively promotes kitchen sanitation with clean as you go practices and adherence to department cleaning lists.

Qualifications

Ability to organize, prioritize and coordinate work

Ability to stand, lift and fold

High School Diploma or GED equivalent
