Performs a variety of administrative and operational duties associated with the operation and the general management of all aspects of the HRCA recreation facilities.
Supervision Received: Works under the direct supervision of the Assistant Operations Director.
Supervision Exercised: Exercises supervision over Assistant Facility Supervisors, Aquatic Coordinator, and other facility staff.
Examples of Duties: The following examples are intended to be illustrative only and are not intended to be all inclusive.
Physical and Environmental Standards: Most work is performed indoors in a busy office where noise and interruptions prevail. Work will also be performed outdoors in different types of conditions including, but not limited to, heat, wind, cold, rain and snow. Must be able to frequently sit, walk, stand, climb, bend, kneel, stoop, reach and lift, push or pull. Must be able to stand/ walk/ rove for extended periods of time, up to 8 hours per shift. Manual dexterity is needed to type, write, use a calculator, and answer the phone. The ability to talk and hear via the telephone and through face to face communication is needed. Vision requirements include near and far acuity. Upper body strength is a requisite to lift/ remove a maximum of 50 pounds unassisted and 100 pounds with assistance.
Requires a thorough knowledge of recreation, facilities, operations, budgeting, financial management, leadership, detail orientation, conflict resolution, customer service, and general management. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors and subordinates. Ability to understand and interpret rules and regulations which govern the HRCA. Ability to set and maintain high working standards. Ability to collect, analyze and present data in report form. Ability to effectively communicate (verbally and in writing) with staff and members. Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a current Ellis & Associates Lifeguard License. Certified Leisure Professional designation desired. Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, twist and lift. Ability to safely lift a minimum of 50 pounds, unassisted, on a daily basis. Must have the ability to work a variety of shifts, including early mornings, late evenings and weekends, to accommodate the hours of the facility. Must pass a Drug and Background check.
Education: Bachelor degree in related field from an accredited four-year college or university desired.
Experience: Seven (7) years of related management experience in a supervisory role.

An equivalent combination of education and experience.
