Highlands Oncology Group is Hiring a Phlebotomist Near Rogers, AR

The phlebotomist is responsible for obtaining blood samples as directed by the physicians, maintaining integrity of the sample including labeling, marking appropriate documents, and approving in our ONCO EMR. Also drawing specimens and completing order requisitions for any send out testing. This may include written work as well as computer work.

  • Skill and proficiency in obtaining the specimens, which includes but not limited to, basic phlebotomy using venous access devices and maintaining the patency of these devices when used.
  • Skill and proficiency in both oral and written communication is necessary.
  • Cooperates with other departments in a team approach to achieve objectives and goals.
  • Performs routine phlebotomies while providing safe patient care.
  • Ensures that equipment and facilities are in proper condition for use in delivering health care.
  • Maintains good personal relations and communications among staff.
  • Inventories lab supplies and restocks, cleans equipment and work area according to policy.
  • Must be willing/able to travel between multiple clinics if required.
  • Dispose of contaminated materials in appropriate containers (Sharps, etc.)
  • Attends meetings and participates in a positive manner.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality.
  • Performs related work as required.
  • Follows OSHA and HIPPA requirements.
Education and Experience:
  • High School education or GED required.
  • Adequate Phlebotomy Competency Training.
Job Duties / Responsibilities:

Collecting blood from accessed picc line, and administration of saline and heparin according to policy in manual.
Other duties include, giving instructions for collecting urine specimens, both random and 24-hour collections; obtaining blood cultures according to policy, and performing PT/Inr results on the CoagSense analyzer.
