Responsibilities:
Follows production schedule or shipping order and transports material or equipment to and from designated areas in the facility
May use pull carts, powered forklifts, and overhead crane for handling materials
Move products to warehouse locations for storage
Unload trucks, weigh count, and store raw materials or components
Ensure loads are secure
Deliver material, parts and supplies to various departments as directed
Perform daily equipment checks
Maintain a clean & safe environment
May be required to use RF scanner gun
Dump scrap hoppers as needed
Move finished products and parts to the shipping department
Load shipments on carrier trucks
Check parts visually and use measuring tools to gauge parts
Other duties may be assigned
Skills:
Good math, language and reading skills; basic computer skills may be required
High degree of attention required to prevent injury to others; promote a safe work environment
Follow instructions for operating equipment and keeping records
Clean driving record and a valid state motor vehicle operator’s license may be required
Forklift certification per OSHA standards
Ability to communicate with others;
Good organizational skills;
Physical Demands:
Regularly sitting on a powered industrial truck
Frequently lift up-to 50 pounds and adjust body position to bend, stoop, stand, walk, turn, pivot, and stand for long periods of time
Having a good sense of balance
Having good eye-hand-foot coordination
Occasionally exposed to fumes, coolant and airborne particles and is occasionally exposed to work near moving mechanical parts
Eligibility Requirements: Prefer 6 months experience in manufacturing environment. High School Graduate or GED preferred but not necessary. Disqualifications: Must have less than 9 attendance points Written warning or higher in past 12 months In current position less than 6 months |
