Highland Place Rehab & Nursing Center is Hiring a Restorative Aide - Full-Time Near Shreveport, LA

SEEKING CERTIFIED CNA WITH RESTORATIVE NURSING EXPERIENCE.

JOB SUMMARY

The Restorative Aide assists residents with follow up maintenance of rehabilitation services including, but not limited to, mobility, personal hygiene and feeding.

ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS

* Minimum of a High school diploma/GED.

* Satisfactory completion of an approved nurse aide training program and testing, as required by the state.

* Must be in good standing with the Nurse Aide Registry.

* Ability to communicate effectively.

* Ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions.

* 1 -3 years nursing assistance experience.

* Demonstrate the ability to successfully perform rehabilitation services.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

This list is subject to individual facility policies, procedures and practices, which may require additional duties and responsibilities.

* Provides personal care to residents. Duties include but are not limited to:

personal hygiene, feeding, dressing, ambulating and transferring, etc.

* Maintains resident and work areas in a clean, orderly and safe manner.

* Assists residents with preventative, therapeutic and restorative procedures:

performing range of motion and/or application of assistive devices or appliances.

* Assists with maintenance of resident bowel and bladder programs.

* Adheres to safety and infection control policies and procedures according to

Standard Precautions.

* Completes required documentation; e.g. intakes and outputs, flow sheets.

* Reports changes in resident conditions, accidents or incidents.

* Supports and assists Activities Services; e.g. transporting residents to and from activities, informing staff of known resident interests, seeing that residents have activities to occupy them.

* Reports defective equipment or other potential safety hazards.

* Works with residents, families, members of the health care team and other

employees in a pleasant, respectful, cooperative manner.

* Attends inservice programs as required by facility and state/federal guidelines.

* Respects and maintains resident's dignity, individuality, privacy and

confidentiality and knowledge of Residents' Bill of Rights.

* Promotes positive public relations for the facility.

* Provides rehabilitative services to maintain and restore resident's maximum

achievable self-care ability (i.e. ambulation, range of motion exercises, personal hygiene, toileting, feeding, positioning and strengthening exercises).

* Participates in resident care conferences as requested.

* Instructs nursing personnel on recommended maintenance procedures that are performed when a resident is discharged from restorative program.

* Conducts exercise program.

* Performs weight checks, using various weighing devices.

* Performs other duties as assigned.
