POSITION SUMMARY:

The Laborer is responsible for installing and repairing roofs on residential and commercial structures. The Laborer is also responsible for removing old roofing materials before making repairs to the structure and applying new roofing.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare surfaces for coating application by cleaning, repairing, and priming as needed
• Apply spray coating to various roofing surfaces
• Inspect and test roof for leaks
• Suggest necessary repairs
• Repair leaks and other roof problems
• Be attentive to clients, act professionally while on the job, and clean up thoroughly once the project is complete
• Follow all safety protocols

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• At least 1 year of professional roofing or construction experience preferred

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• Proficient with industry equipment and hand tools

• Ability to between 20-25 pounds
• Ability to work outside

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Regularly wear gloves, hard hats, safety goggles, or ear plugs, depending on the job
• Are sometimes exposed to very hot or very cold temperatures when working outdoors
• Able to lift 20-25 pounds
• Climb a ladder safely
• Usually work close to others, typically within a few feet.

COMPENSATION:

$20 - $22 per hour depending on experience
