COSMETOLOGIST/WELLNESSCONCIERGE

We specialize in assisted living and memorycare. Highgate Senior Living's mission is to devote ourselves to help eachresident live a life of purpose and each of us plays a crucial role in doingso. We operate communities in the western US and are seeking the right Cosmetologist/WellnessConcierge to join our team. Come helpus create an environment that promotes a sense of well-being and the feeling oftrue community in a gracious, homelike setting. This positionis responsible to safely provide wellness services to our residents thatpromote overall feelings of well-being through multiple methods. This can include, and are not limited to,hair and nail service, hydrospa therapy, hand and foot massage, personalizedphysical exercise regimens, Highgate aromatherapy program and massage chairsessions.

The successful candidate will be motivated by service, an organized anddetail-oriented individual with a positive and self-motivated attitude. Youmust have strong communication and computer skills. Excellent time managementskills are important along with relationship building, persistence, flexibility,and adaptability. You must want tohave fun and spend time with others to be successful in this role.

SKILLS NEEDED:

• Confidence to engage with seniorswhile providing hands on care and service
• Creativity to provide a relaxingenvironment for our residents receiving wellness services
• Credentialed experience providingsalon services to seniors
• Business acumen to manage theoperating costs of the wellness areas and various services
• Communication skills to interact withvarious vendors in coordinating various services for residents
• Proficient with basic computer skills
• Ability to connect with residents atdifferent physical and cognitive functional levels
• Team player with ability to developstrong working relationships along with customer service focus
• Ability to adapt/respond quickly tothe needs and preferences of our residents
• An understanding or the willingness togain an understanding of the various forms of dementia and how to helpresidents with dementia still live with purpose
• Knowledge of mindfulness, relaxationstrategies useful for older adults

RELATABLE EXPERIENCE:

• Experience in coordinating, scheduling, and implementing salon and wellness services
• Past experiences where you have provided assistant services for individuals or groups
• Past roles in which you have been amulti-tasker, attending to the needs of others while monitoring the overallenvironment
• Jobs you’ve had that include workingwith seniors or other vulnerable populations
• Salon or wellness center operation oroversight
• Experiences that have given you a familiaritywith the senior population and how aging can affect a person
• Experience in Assisted Living/Healthcare cosmetology servicedelivery

QUALIFICATIONS:

1- At least 21 years of age

2- Current, valid cosmetology license

3- Current negative TB test

4- Willingness to learn how to work in ahealthcare/assisted living environment

5- Current First Aid and CPRcertification or the ability to obtain

6- Ability to pass criminalrecord/background check

7- Meet all criteria as required by stateand local agencies

8- Good time management, organization,and scheduling skills

9- Must be able to work wellindependently with little oversight

As an organization we offer our team members agood benefits package, the ability to be heard, have their opinions count andthe opportunity to innovate. Ourcompensation package will be flexible for this role based on the credentialing,tenure and skill sets each candidate brings for consideration. The starting hourly wage range for thisposition is $25.00 to $32.00 per hour. Prior experience in seniors housing programmingis preferred. A passion for your workand a commitment to serving others are essential job qualifications.
