Description

Koslin & Kahn Oral and Facial Surgery is seeking a skilled and committed part-time Surgical Assistant to join our team and assist us in delivering exceptional care to our patients at our Jasper location. 

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist the Oral Surgeon during a variety of oral and maxillofacial surgical procedures.
• Prepare treatment room for patient by following prescribed procedures and protocols.
• Take dental x-rays of excellent, diagnostic quality.
• Review health history with the patient to ensure information is recorded accurately and completely. 
• Serve as an infection control officer by preparing and sterilizing instruments and equipment.
• Help patients feel comfortable before, during, and after surgical treatment.
• Provide patients with post-operative instructions for oral care following surgery or other oral treatment procedures.
• Record doctor notes and vital sign information during a surgical procedure or office consultation.
• Perform office management tasks that often require the use of a computer.
• Maintain patient confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential. 

Requirements

• One or more years of Dental and/or Surgical Assistant experience is preferred, but not required.
• High school diploma or equivalent. 
• Experience using computers for a variety of tasks. 
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Consistent professional appearance and attitude. 
• Detail oriented, punctual, and patient-care focused. 
• Motivated to grow and learn.
