High Point & SEMCOA Job Board is Hiring a Driver/Delivery Person Near New Bedford, MA

Driver/Delivery Person

Program & Location: Laundry Department, New Bedford
Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)
Requirements: Must have Valid Drivers License!
Pay Range: $20 - $22 per hour
Shift: 8AM-4:30PM
Schedule: Per Diem
At least two years of licensed driving, must have clean driving record, knowledge of Southcoast MA area.

About Us

High Point & Affiliated Organizations is a health and human service agency whose mission is to treat and prevent substance use disorders and mental illness. High Point has programs located throughout Southeastern Massachusetts offering a full continuum of care for substance use and mental health treatment, including inpatient, outpatient, residential, and community-based services. Programs and services also assist survivors of abuse, violence, and families experiencing homelessness. High Point believes that everyone has inherent goodness, worth, and dignity. Driver/Delivery Person Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED required
  • Provide a valid driver’s license and current driving record
  • At least two years of licensed driving and knowledge of Southcoast MA area
  • Must be able to load and unload linens up to 80 pounds per bag.

Driver/Delivery Person Duties & Responsibilities

  • Compliance with Federal Regulations, 42 CFR Part 2, Confidentiality of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Patients, HIPAA;
  • Compliance to and working knowledge of all applicable HP policies and program procedures including but not limited to those relating to ethics/boundaries and duties of role;
  • Load and deliver orders as directed in a timely manner;
  • Pick up soiled linen as directed;
  • Report any Registry of Motor Vehicle issues with driver’s license to Program Director;
  • Submit to annual review of driving record and acknowledgment of Driver’s Manual;
  • Ensure appropriate use of agency gas card and ensure card and vehicle keys are returned to proper location/person;
  • Complete trips/tasks as directed by Program Director/Designee (i.e. errands, deliveries, drop off/pick up mail) and submit receipts as directed;
  • Maintain positive rating with agency vehicle monitoring system (Geotab);
  • Maintain all documentation, including mileage log related to vehicle maintenance and transporting duties in accordance with stated policies;
  • Maintain daily trip schedule, prioritize/organize trips and ensure vehicle does not make unauthorized stops and that time is accounted for;
  • Ensure a copy of the Driver’s Manual, First Aid Kit (including narcan) are in vehicle and be knowledgeable of procedures in the case of incident or accident;
  • Attend all required trainings and staff meetings Position will include daily heavy lifting, vehicle preventative maintenance, and emergency road repairs (i.e. changing flat tire);
  • Maintain interior of vehicle in a clean manner ensuring on a daily basis that vehicle is free from debris and contraband;
