Education/ Licensure: Masters degree in a related field or licensed/license eligible as a LICSW, LMHC or LADC 1
Salary: $72,800 - $93, 600 (Experience & education dependent)

About Us

High Point has programs offering Acute Treatment Services (detoxification) for clients seeking voluntary Inpatient Substance Use Treatment and Section 35 services (for individuals that have been civilly committed to treatment).

High Point & Affiliated Organizations is a health and human service agency whose mission is to treat and prevent substance use disorders and mental illness. High Point has programs located throughout Southeastern Massachusetts offering a full continuum of care for substance use and mental health treatment, including inpatient, outpatient, residential, and community-based services. Programs and services also assist survivors of abuse, violence, and families experiencing homelessness. High Point believes that everyone has inherent goodness, worth, and dignity. Senior Clinician Requirements

  • Must present as courteous and professional at all times
  • Demonstrated flexibility and ability to perform multiple tasks
  • Must have excellent communication skills, including the ability to organize ideas in logical and clear fashion
  • Must have the ability to work with others in cooperative and collaborative manner
  • TB screening
  • Certification in the HPTC approved de-escalation program
  • Strong and effective verbal, written and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of basic computer skills and software programs including the ability to learn, use and train HPTC`s electronic medical records
  • Knowledge of major clinical therapeutic models and behavioral health best practice
  • An understanding of the relationship between substance abuse and mental health issues and/or self help programs for adults and/or adolescents
  • Diagnostic, assessment skills and case management ability
  • Promote and enhance one’s knowledge about the symptoms of psychiatric illness and addiction
  • Ability to facilitate a group/lecture
  • Ability to set limits and enforce rules
  • Be familiar with relevant professional codes of ethics, patient’s rights documents, and laws and regulations that govern both counseling and clinical supervision practices
  • Must demonstrate competence in working within a structured human service setting
  • Skills in fiscal and personnel management, and the ability to maintain positive public relations with the local community including the district court and forensic court clinicians
  • Knowledge of, adherence to, and ability to train staff, regarding state and federal licensing requirements, accreditation bodies and other applicable regulatory agencies
  • Ability to develop effective interdepartmental and interagency collaborations

Senior Clinician Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintains and submits current Licensure or Certificate necessary for the performance of the position
  • Comply with Federal Regulations, 42CFR Part 2, Confidentiality of Alcohol Abuse Policy and HIPAA Regulations
  • Participate in Treatment Team Meetings
  • Crisis intervention
  • Maintain assigned caseload
  • Provides direct care to patients – including assessments of the new patients, individual counseling, case management, discharge and aftercare planning, lectures, treatment plans, daily progress notes, facilitation of daily groups, group note completion, family meetings and completion of bio-psychosocial assessments
  • Responsible for each assigned patient’s medical record. All records are to be professional, complete and thorough with entries made in a timely manner
  • Responsible for linking patient’s with aftercare services prior to discharge and aiding the patient and his/her family to access outpatient services where appropriate
  • Attend all unit, facility meetings and case conferences as determined by the Program/Clinical Director;
  • Attend mandatory trainings
  • Responsible for continued education in the field of substance abuse/mental health and related courses;
  • Knowledge of medical necessity criteria for all level of care
  • Works collaboratively with all parties involved in the clinical review and insurance authorization process to maximize third party income
  • Responsible for contacting the insurance company for authorization, as needed
  • Utilizes standards precautions at all times
  • Demonstrates behaviors that recognize the rights of patients as defined by the patient rights
  • Familiarity with managing an in-patient milieu including proficiency in de-escalation techniques, conflict resolution, ability to set and reinforce milieu rules and crisis debriefing techniques
  • Ensure that programming services adhere to written policies and procedures
  • Ensure that all licensing and accreditation standards are met
  • Interacts with local and community service networks in a manner that enhances the public relations of the facility
  • Other duties as assigned by the Program/Clinical/Area Directors, Hospital Administrator and/or Vice President

Senior Clinician Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in a human service related field, licensed or license eligible as a LICSW, LMHC or LADC1
  • One year of supervisory experience preferred
