Payroll Specialist

Summary: High Country Search Group has partnered with a stable construction company who is hiring a Payroll Specialist. This position is located in Lakewood, on the West side of Denver. The ideal candidate will have processed certified payroll.

Primary Functions of the Payroll Specialist:

• Assist in processing multistate, weekly, in-house payroll for 1,200 employees using Spectrum
• Work directly with Payroll Manager on projects, wage determinations and maintain accuracy on certified reporting
• Upload certified payroll weekly transcripts into LCPTracker
• Help with quarterly/annual tax deposits, tax and wage reports and file with Federal/State agencies, and various audits
• Fulfill confidential Verification of Employment requests
• Support with both internal and external audits
• Assist with year-end and tax reconciliation, auditing and reporting
• Balance and upload weekly per diem records
• Effectively tie out year-end taxable and gross wages for year-end reconciliation

Qualifications of the Payroll Specialist:

• Minimally 3 years experience of in-house payroll experience
• Minimum of 1 year of experience of Certified payroll experience preferred
• In depth understanding of U.S. payroll and tax processes required
• Understanding the laws for processing garnishments/child support orders is required
• Team player, good work ethic, and maintains a self-initiative personality
• Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred, but not a requirement

Pay: $60,000.00 - $69,000.00 per year
