Job Summary

Administers prescribed medications to residents and maintains related medical records under supervision of Nurse. The ideal candidate will be an energetic, clinically sound professional, with a passion for providing quality care to the residents we are entrusted to care for.

Essential Functions:

  • Verifies identity of resident receiving medication and records name of drug, dosage, and time of administration on specified forms or records.
  • Presents medication to resident and observes ingestion or other application, or administers medication, using specified processes.
  • Takes vital signs
  • Documents reasons prescribed drugs are not administered.
  • Receive supply of ordered medications and apportion, mix, or assemble drugs for administration to resident.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of state regulations regarding Assisted Living, Dementia Care and Resident Rights.
  • Physically able to manage the duties of a large home.
  • 0-6 months previous experience working with the elderly
  • Computer Skills; Email and Microsoft Office experience
  • Accuracy – Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.
  • Communication – Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Computer Skills – Proficient ability to use a computer and electronic medical record.
  • Confidentiality – Maintain patient, team member and employer confidentiality. Comply with all HIPAA regulations.
  • Customer Service Oriented – Friendly, cheerful, and helpful to patients and others. Ability to meet patients and others needs while following office policies and procedures.
  • Decision Making – Ability to make critical decisions while following HM’s policies and
  • procedures.
  • Detail Oriented – Ability to pay attention to the fine details of a project or task.
  • Flexibility – Ability to adapt easily to changing conditions and work responsibilities.
  • Positivity – Display a positive attitude and is a positive agent for change.
  • Teamwork – Work as part of a team and collaborate with co-workers.
  • Working Under Pressure – Ability to complete assigned tasks under stressful situations.

Education and Experience:

  • · High school diploma or equivalent required
  • CNA/Med Tech Certificate

Work Environment:

  • · Fast paced environment with occasional high pressure or emergent situations
  • · Work hours subject to office needs to ensure coverage during all hours of operation
  • · Frequent exposure to bodily fluids
  • · Possible exposure to infectious specimens, communicable diseases, toxic substances; employment may require use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • · Frequent interaction with a diverse population including team members, providers, patients, and other outside services providers

Physical Demands:

  • · Frequent sitting, standing, walking, grasping, carrying, and speaking
  • · Occasional reaching, bending, and stooping
  • · Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 50 pounds, with assistance if needed
  • · May need to lift or turn patients who are disabled, with assistance if needed

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
