Hickory Log Personal Care Home, also known as Hickory Log Vocational School, is a safe and supportive environment for men with special needs including intellectual disabilities and developmental disabilities. Located in White, GA, our mission is to champion independence within the personal care home model, providing residents with opportunities to hone their relational, vocational, and financial skills. We strive to be a source of hope and security for individuals with special needs and their families, fostering a community where they can feel at home.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role as a Resident Aide at Hickory Log Personal Care Home. As a Resident Aide, you will be responsible for providing support and assistance to residents with special needs including intellectual disabilities and developmental disabilities. Your day-to-day tasks will include assisting with daily living activities, medication management, and fostering a safe and inclusive environment. In addition, you will be responsible for promoting the personal growth and independence of residents through vocational and life skills training. We are currently seeking a full time third shift.

Qualifications

  • Experience in caregiving or working with individuals with special needs
  • At least 21 years of age
  • Knowledge of intellectual disabilities and developmental disabilities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patience and compassion
  • Ability to assist with daily living activities
  • Medication management skills
  • Understanding of safety protocols and emergency procedures
  • Experience with vocational and life skills training is a plus
  • Certification in CPR and First Aid is preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $13.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
