Position Details
- Draw individual parts of upholstery frame or case using all appropriate specifications
- Create 3D models using Solid Works 3D cad software
- Create bill of materials including purchased parts and wood parts required to build a complete frame
- Draft full size frame detail of unit for manufacturing and purchasing reference
- Draw knife drawings and lathe pattern drawings pertaining to unit parts needing to be produced
- Create and draw part on plant route sheet which describes each machine operation for each step in making a part
- Gather information from purchasing and industrial engineer for costing each sample
- Consult with sample department to create full size pattern drawings
- Work with plant personnel to solve any problems pertaining to the part or frame
- Provide drawings to machine room where required
- Modify units as needed and produce shop drawings for special construction requests and custom furniture Helps determine feasibility and best construction for custom pieces
- Measure and document item dimensions for catalog and price lists
- Assist in new product sample process as needed
- Assist and participate with EDGE teams
- Support customer service department by answering requests for information in a timely manner
- Attend weekly meeting to report on progress of new products
- Must follow all safety policies and procedures
- All other duties as assigned

- 2-year degree required, 4-year degree preferred
- Knowledge of and ability to use engineering principles
- Knowledge of furniture design, construction, materials, equipment and processes
- Prolonged periods of sitting and performing repetitive tasks, including but not limited to computer and telephone usage
- Must be able to work in noisy environments
- Frequently lifting/carrying objects up to 10 lbs.; on occasion up to 25 lbs.
