This position represents patient care directed toward critical care areas, step down areas, general care areas and critical care transports.
Education required: High School Diploma/GED
License, certification and/or registration: Applicants must be licensed by the Alabama State Board of Respiratory Therapy. Must be registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care. Certification of BLS is preferred for hiral processes required within the orientation period, not to exceed 90 days of hire or transfer. ACLS and or PALS certifications are preferred.
Experience: Clinical experience obtained while attending Respiratory program. Additional experience relating to intubation and critical care transport competencies are preferred.
Additional skills/abilities: Must have excellent communication skills with the ability to work in a fast paced environment, requiring prioritizing and changing tasks frequently and quickly. Must have the ability to perform and recommend procedures in all areas of bronchial hygiene, oxygen therapy, respiratory diagnostic procedures, and all levels of mechanical ventilation. Ability to function in critical settings including initiation, and support of, mechanical ventilation
