Job Knowledge

  • Oversee and coordinate all preconstruction activities for construction projects
  • Conduct site evaluations to assess potential risks and opportunities
  • Develop and manage the preconstruction schedule and ensure timely completion of milestones
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other project stakeholders to develop comprehensive project plans
  • Prepare accurate cost estimates and budgets by analyzing project drawings and specifications
  • Coordinate with procurement team to solicit and evaluate subcontractor bids and vendor quotes
  • Ensure all necessary permits and regulatory approvals are obtained in a timely manner
  • Facilitate communication between project team members to ensure alignment and understanding of project objectives
  • Participate in contract negotiations with clients, subcontractors, and vendors
  • Implement and maintain preconstruction phase documentation and reporting systems
  • Stay updated on industry trends, construction methods, and building materials to enhance preconstruction services
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure future business opportunities
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior preconstruction staff
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking functions.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction management or project planning
  • Proven track record of managing all aspects of preconstruction phases for construction projects
  • In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, materials, and project management principles
  • Strong understanding of building codes, zoning laws, and regulatory standards
  • Proficient with preconstruction software (e.g., Procore, BuildingConnected, PlanSwift)
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications
  • Experience with cost estimation, budget development, and financial analysis
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously with tight deadlines
