Position Overview:
We are seeking a diligent and highly organized Paralegal/Legal Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong legal background, exceptional research and writing skills, and the ability to effectively assist our attorneys in all stages of legal proceedings.
Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys in drafting legal documents, such as inventories, closing disclosures, trusts and estates.
- Organize and maintain legal files and documents, ensuring they are up-to-date and easily accessible.
- Coordinate with clients, agents, mortgage lenders, and other parties involved in case matters.
- Prepare and file legal documents with courts and government agencies.
- Assist attorneys in preparing for closings, signings, hearings, and meetings.
- Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing calendars, and answering phone calls.
Qualifications:
- Currently or previously enrolled in Paralegal Studies degree program.
- Previous experience working as a Paralegal or legal assistant preferred.
- Spanish speaker preferred, but not required.
- North Carolina Notary Public preferred, but not required.
- Strong knowledge of legal terminology, procedures, and principles.
- Proficiency in legal research methods and tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal software applications.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to ethical standards.
