Arcade Technician

We strive to keep all the games and laser tag equipment on the floor operational and in like-new condition. The Arcade Technician will be responsible for the daily repairs to all arcade and laser tag equipment. Direct experience working on modern arcade games is a major plus, but an individual with proven low voltage and mechanical troubleshooting skills absolutely will be considered!
Our goal is to build the greatest arcade in the country, and we need someone who truly loves everything about arcades (as we do). Experience in other FEC fields would also be beneficial, as we also have pinsetters, a ropes course, and a miniature golf course that all technicians are cross trained in. This position, however, will be primarily day to day repair and maintenance of arcade games and laser tag equipment.
Job Responsibilities
· Perform preventive maintenance on pinsetters, games, attractions, and facility equipment.
· Perform necessary repairs to pinsetters, games, attractions, and facility equipment.
· Perform basic facility maintenance repairs.
· Assist with keeping the facility in superior quality through deep cleaning, painting, repairs, etc.
· Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work area and environment.
· Enforce and adhere to strict safety standards and best practices for a safe work environment.
· Ensure safety and functionality of the attractions as needed.
· Maintain equipment, part, & supply inventory.
· Assist as needed in other areas as requested by managers.
· Maintain uniform standards and a professional appearance.
· Conduct regular inspections of attractions, and equipment to ensure operational readiness.
· Physical Requirements: Standing, sitting, & laying down for long periods of time with frequent bending and turning Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Must be comfortable climbing on a ladder. Must be able to communicate with guests and deliver safety instructions.
Requirements
· High School diploma or equivalent
· Experience within the gaming industry a big plus
· Great working knowledge of hand tools
· Experienced in low voltage troubleshooting on 5v, 12v, and 24v circuits
· Basic computer hardware knowledge
· Soldering experience
· Reliable transportation
· Solid work ethic for being punctual, dependable and customer driven
· Efficient at managing a workload with minimal supervision
· Always working accurately and efficiently
· Solid organization skills in managing paperwork, tools, parts, etc.
· Proactive – carry out preventative checks and routine inspections. Must be able to see potential issues, take corrective measures and anticipate ongoing needs.
· Deductive reasoning – Must have the ability to independently work through, identify and isolate the root cause of a problem, based on observation or on the reporting of faults from the operations team
· Manual dexterity – be able to use their hands or tools in a skillful and coordinated way to grasp and manipulate objects with small, precise movements.
· Creative problem-solving skills – must be able to work independently, know or be able to source information to resolve issues with machinery. In emergency situations, they may have to jerry-rig a solution to get the equipment up and running.
· Intuitive feel for machines – must be able to observe the routine operation of equipment, develop an intuitive understanding, sixth sense or “feel” for the machine and quickly spot when something is not right.
· Excellent verbal communication skills – must be able to interpret reporting of maintenance issues and provide clear instruction or update about interventions or repairs.
· Written communication skills – be able to read and interpret maintenance documentation, manuals, and plans. Must keep clear and accurate records of troubleshooting and repairs and keep required documentation up to date to ensure compliance with internal and external manufacturing guidelines.
· Team working – as well as team working with maintenance colleagues, must be able to work efficiently with the operations team in coordinated projects.
· Time management – must be able to execute routine maintenance activities as well as respond to troubleshooting requests and unexpected equipment issues.
