Overview

We are looking for a Quality Control Engineer to join our team. The Quality Control Engineer, reporting to Production Manager, is a strategic role responsible for ensuring our Autonomy Products leave our facilities meeting the highest standards for quality and reliability. You will work with install technicians, manufacturing engineers, product validation and verification, and engineering managers, to ensure our products are built to print and meet our high standards.

The Location: Hexagon is a global company with locations around the world. This position will be in person at our Wangara WA Facility.

Responsibilities

As a Quality Control Engineer, you will:

  • Execute QA and QC procedures to ensure all Hexagon products leave our facility built to our prints and high standards.
  • Thoroughly document the results of the QA and QC test procedures.
  • Write updated quality control documentation for our Autonomy Products when needed.
  • Lead collaborative discussion with product install teams and engineering teams to review any functional or quality issues.
  • Ensure customer statement of work requirements are met.
  • Align regulatory compliance and robustness test strategies across product V&V teams.
  • Integrate functional safety testing requirements into the overall autonomous site system V&V strategy.
  • Track, coordinate, and regularly communicate progress of Quality Control plans to project management and leadership throughout the organization.
  • Travel up to 20% of the time to assist with quality issues in the field.
  • Proactively and regularly communicate with the project team to update on validation status.
  • Flash updated software on several components in the Autonomy system.
  • Report generation to provide assurance that all critical aspects have been tested and validated.
  • Track and coordinate all validation activities progress. Ensure key deliverables are met.
  • Maintaining procedures, policies, documents for your activities
  • Can work independently with minimal supervision to conduct Quality Control Plans.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and equipment.
  • Demonstrate good project management skills and leadership qualities.
  • Be open to a flexible and fluid work environment.

Qualifications

Must-Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience
  • Experience troubleshooting issues on complex systems.

  • Direct experience with quality activities for autonomous systems and autonomous vehicles
  • Experience working on technical teams to accomplish goals.
  • Experience with CI activities.
  • Familiarity with hardware and software associated with mining autonomy.
