Sweeterie Retail Team Members operate The Sweeterie located in Chocolatetown. This guest-facing position is responsible for customer service, operating a register, stocking baked goods and candy displays, and overall retail operations within The Sweeterie.

Job Duties:

• Actively engage with guests in order to provide exceptional customer service to enhance their shopping experience
• Assist guests with any questions about Sweeterie products they may have
• Sell merchandise to guests by carefully handling Sweeterie bakery items, following proper boxing procedures, and efficiently entering transactions into register
• Explain item ingredients, as well as allergens, upon guests’ request
• Communicate with pastry kitchen staff to restock Sweeterie items as needed
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the store by cleaning, sanitizing, and sweeping/mopping work areas. This includes food preparation areas, food contact surfaces, guest facing areas, and all floors and walkways.

Required Qualifications:

• Must be 14 years of age or older on the date of applying
• Must be able to understand and communicate in the English language
• Successfully complete and obtain the ServSafe Food Safety Training Certification in collaboration with the Food & Beverage Department

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Must communicate and work well with other employees and be able to interact with our guests
• Must display a positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and professional image in compliance with the Hershey Entertainment & Resorts guidelines

Job Demands:

• Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Must be available to work between 7:30 am - midnight, according to Child Labor Laws
• Must be able to work a minimum of 3 shifts per week during the summer season
• Employees are subject to a variety of weather conditions, including but not limited to: extreme heat, sun exposure, cold, and inclement weather
• Physical requirements include the ability to stand (for up to five hours at a time), walk, bend, push, pull, lift, and reach (both above head as well as to ground level)
• May come in contact with food allergens including, but not limited to, nuts, gluten, dairy, etc.
