Responsibilities and Duties:

• Operate superconductive Magnetic Resonance Imager (MRI)
• Use a highly complex computerized imaging device
• Employ strong magnetic fields and radio waves
• Acquire images of the entire body, including the brain, neck, spine, chest, body, and extremities

• Work independently and collaboratively as required by the role.
• Receive task assignments and supervision from the VASDHS Chief Technologist or Supervisory Technologist.
• Adhere to quality assurance standards established by JCAHO.
• Align services with healthcare industry standards, VA policies, and regulations.
• Demonstrate proficiency in English and necessary technical skills.
• Ensure compliance with VASDHS policies, procedures, bylaws, and medical staff protocols.
• Seek approval from VASDHS Chief of Staff or Medical Director before introducing new procedures or services.
• Provide and wear personal uniforms on VASDHS grounds.
• Demonstrate proficiency in computer and technology use.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must hold a current and valid Advanced ARRT certification in MRI.
• Must be certified and licensed by the State of California in radiography and fluoroscopy for General DRT, DRT CT, and Interventional positions.
• Must hold Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Must be familiar with all radiographic diagnostic fluoroscopy, surgery procedures, portable (including C-Arm), and routine general diagnostic exams.
• Must possess PACS work experience.
• Must have demonstrated experience starting Intravenous (IV) and performing contrast injections. IV certification is required.
• Minimum of two (2) years of current work experience in specialized modality.
