The Dental Assistant role is to support the dentist and hygienist in providing high quality and compassionate care to all patients.

Organizing and sterilizing dental instruments and workstations per OSHA standards

Accurately describe to patient and family the necessary treatment and plan steps
Efficiently obtain quality dental radiographs (periapicals, bitewings, panoramic) as requested by the dentist using coaching techniques
Provide clear, effective, and encouraging oral hygiene instructions

Report to work on time as scheduled and ready to serve the patient throughout the entirety of the scheduled shift

Minimum Qualifications
Radiology Education and training that meets state requirements
Strong interpersonal skills such as; a friendly outgoing demeanor and the ability to actively listen to patients and parents
The ability to multi-task and complete dental tasks correctly and in a timely manner
Ability to disinfect hygiene station following clinical contact surfaces protocol
Efficiently complete tasks in a fast-paced environment
Desired Qualifications
Knowledge of e-Clinical Works
Previous experience working in a dental office
Current BLS CPR Certification
Familiar with hygiene instruments and understanding the proper use of these instruments
Experience with diagnostic radiographs and intraoral pictures
Knowledge of tooth numbers/letters and the ability to chart existing restorations, teeth, decay and proposed restorations accurately
Physical Requirements
This position requires full range of body motion. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, walk and stand; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands repetitively to handle or operate standard office equipment; reach with hands and arms; and lift up to 25 pounds.
Work Environment
Work is performed in a dental office which is a clinical and office environment. Dental Assistants are occasionally exposed to fumes, airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals; therefore, compliance with proper safety and OSHA standards is required. This role routinely utilizes standard dental and office equipment.
