Hermes is Hiring a Part-Time Equipment Operator Near Lenexa, KS
Hermes Landscaping is looking for an experienced part-time equipment operator. The part-time equipment operator will be responsible for:
- Loading and unloading equipment from vehicles used to transport it.
- Inspecting equipment before and after use to ensure it’s in good working order.
- Perform "walk around" inspections of equipment before operation and at the end of shift.
- Driving or operating heavy equipment to complete tasks on job site.
- Start engines, move throttles, switches, and levers, and depress pedals to operate machines.
- Take actions to avoid potential hazards and obstructions such as utility lines, equipment, workers, and falling objects.
- Perform maintenance procedures on equipment such as oiling, greasing, and other services to the machine.
- Troubleshoot and make adjustments to equipment.
- Other unlisted duties will be assigned.
Preferred Experience & Skills:
- 3-5 years of previous experience operating heavy equipment.
- Knowledge of equipment operation techniques and safety procedures.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
- Work outdoors with exposure to changing weather conditions such as rain, sun, snow, and wind.
- Ability to abide by strict, but necessary, safety rules and policies.
