Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Wound Care Nurse to join Heritage Park Nursing and Rehabilitation's healthcare team. As a Wound Care Nurse, you will play a crucial role in providing specialized care to patients with acute and chronic wounds. Your expertise in wound assessment, treatment, and management will contribute to the overall well-being and healing of our patients.
Duties:
- Perform comprehensive wound assessments and develop individualized care plans
- Administer appropriate wound care treatments, including dressing changes, debridement, and wound irrigation
- Monitor and evaluate the progress of wound healing
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to coordinate patient care
- Educate patients and their families on proper wound care techniques and prevention strategies
- Document all assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely using electronic medical record systems (e.g., Cerner)
- Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a clean and safe environment for patients
Requirements:
- Valid nursing license in [STATE]
- Proven experience as a Wound Care Nurse or in a similar role
- In-depth knowledge of wound assessment, treatment modalities, and evidence-based practices
- Proficiency in ICD-10 coding for accurate documentation and billing purposes
- Strong clinical skills including airway management, physical examinations, diagnostic evaluation, etc.
- Familiarity with catheterization procedures and family planning methods
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members
- Ability to work in a fast-paced hospital setting with attention to detail and multitasking capabilities
