Description

Summary:

The Senior Financial Analyst will utilize Business Intelligence to track Heritage Health’s financial performance against budget, analyze performance and market conditions to create forecasts, and assist senior management in making tactical and strategic decisions by providing periodic reports. They are responsible for preparing all reporting packages, creating information dashboards, providing financial consulting services and collaborating with other departments on organizational initiatives.

Requirements

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business, Economics, or a related field.

3-5 years of financial planning and analysis experience required, Healthcare or related field preferred and at least 2 years of experience with Business Intelligence tools.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

1. MS Office and advanced knowledge of Excel is required.

2. Working knowledge of Business Objects, SQL, Database, or other reporting tools.

3. Experience with data mining, reporting and analysis.

4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders.

5. Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Controllership Duties

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting packages for internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Prepare financial information and report to management, including designing new reports or implementing information gathering in new areas.
  • Analyze past results, perform variance analysis, identify trends, and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of monthly financial and operational dashboards. 
  • Provide support with requests related to internal and external audits and regulatory reviews.
  • Provide a high level of assurance related to the quality of data presented internally and externally of the organization.

Financial Planning and Budgeting

  • Participate in the development of the annual operating and capital budgets and any periodic revisions necessary; participate in forecast preparation as required. 
  • Conduct detailed financial analysis to support budget development, considering factors such as resource allocation, capital expenditures, and operational costs.
  • Assist with the development of long-term financial and operational plans; Establish financial milestones and benchmarks to track progress, costs over/under runs and ensure alignment with project objectives.
  • Prepare and manage the monthly revenue analyses and budget comparisons.
  • Prepare monthly medical costs analyses and budget comparisons.
  • Collaborate with project teams to develop mitigation strategies for addressing forecasted variances and achieving financial targets.
  • Researches, develops, and recommends financial processes, strategies, methods, plans, policies, and procedures.
  • Provides a broad range of financial consulting services. Develops models for forecasting and recommends financing; researches and responds to technical accounting questions; interprets financial cost information and budget reports for management.

Financial Monitoring and Reporting

  • Apply statistical and financial modeling methodologies to assess outcomes, recognize variances, pinpoint opportunities, and risks, and offer actionable insights regarding financial trends and performance.
  • Assist with month-end close processes, including financial reconciliations, accruals, and variance analysis, to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Generate regular financial reports and dashboards to provide stakeholders with timely insights into project financial performance.
  • Develop and maintain project financial forecasts based on evolving project scope, schedule, and resource requirements.
  • Conduct variance analysis and trend analysis to identify potential risks and opportunities and provide actionable insights to project teams and senior management.
  • Serves as a key staff representative for the design and utilization of existing and new financial information systems. Analyzes system capabilities and user requirements and coordinates system installation and review.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
