Position Summary
Heritage provides parents and scholars with a friendly and orderly academic environment. As an integral part of Heritage Academy,
this position will lead all areas of the academy while adhering to all practices consistent with Heritages’ culture, strategy, and values.
Duties & Responsibilities
Provides parents and scholars a friendly and orderly academic environment.
Leads campus activities in the areas of academic, athletics, arts, and administration.
Uses data to measure success and improve performance.
Holds standards and administers corrective action and discipline as needed.
Works with teachers to improve performance and improve academic achievement.
Reports to the Governing Board on strengths and opportunities.
Provides input on continuous improvement plans and ways to strengthen school governance.
Serves on the Governing Board for the school, as needed.
Ensures a productive learning environment through continual collaboration with teachers, scholars, and parents.
Facilitates opportunities to connect with scholars by being present and available during arrival and dismissal, by appearing
at school functions, and by meeting with scholars.
Coordinates and oversees staff development by providing instruction when necessary.
Helps oversee and implement budgets and expenses at the campus level.
Interacts with various stakeholders to foster a position relationship between the school and the community, including the
PTO organization and Heritage leadership.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Competencies & Strengths
Education: Bachelor’s degree required; Graduate degree preferred
Experience: 3-5 years of experience as a Principal or Assistant Principal in an Elementary School environment. Must meet Arizona
State Licensing Director qualifications.

Professional and friendly disposition
Proficient with computers and office software applications including MS Office tools.
Outstanding organizational skills
Knowledgeable in special education practice and law.
Strong knowledge of state licensing rules and regulations preferred.
CPR/First Aid training required.
Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
Proficient with computers and software applications including Google Suite and Microsoft Office tools
Type of fingerprint clearance: IVP fingerprint card required pursuant to A.R.S 15-512
Physical functions: Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, and operate a computer, hand-held learning devices, and other
office equipment. Reach with hands and arms and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Equipment used: Frequent computer use is expected.
Work Environment: Typical office environment is expected; occasional exposure to outdoor weather.
