Overview

As a Digital Engineering Subject Matter Expert (SME) working for Hepburn and Sons LLC, you will be assigned as part of our technical work force to support and grow our systems engineering capabilities and support our customers in the Department of Defense industry. In this position, you will report to the Director of Technology Transition. You will be expected to support the company with achieving milestones and objectives, solving unique and complex problems, growing a systems engineering discipline within the division, supporting business growth, mentor and train the extended team in model-based systems engineering, and contribute to the development of functional strategy.

This is a remote position. 

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering, technical, and managerial direction for problem definition, analysis, requirement development and implementation for complex systems in the engineering discipline required to meet technical requirements
• Perform risk assessments, requirements traceability, and analysis employing modeling and simulation expertise
• Use appropriate tools and applications to communicate data, trends, analyses, risk assessments, and design recommendations
• Prepare and/or conduct briefings to customers, senior government officials, and other technology stakeholders
• Develop and apply innovative methods, theories and research techniques in the investigation and solution of complex and difficult system design
• Support projects for shipboard power system technologies, materials solutions, and additive manufacturing capabilities

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering; MS or PhD degree preferred
• 15 or more years of experience in modeling, simulation, and systems engineering design; system modeling language (SysML) experience preferred
• Ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance
