Compensation Range (Southern California Only)

$25.00 - $35.00 per hour

Position Description:

The Project Accountant will help support the project management staff while primarily supporting the Project Manager and Project Engineer.

Position Qualifications:

  • Business or Accounting degree.
  • Knowledge of construction accounting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to effectively engage different personality types.
  • Well organized and detail-oriented.
  • A self-starter and great team player.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Must be willing to work 40 hours per week plus overtime as needed to meet project deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced knowledge of Excel.
  • VBA experience.
  • CPA or CPA candidate.

Essential Duties:

  • Work closely with Project Engineers and Managers to ensure accurate and consistent financial reporting, revenue recognition, and project billing.
  • Understand contract terms and assist Project Managers in performing project start-up, close-out, internal interim audits and maintaining the life cycle of projects.
  • Work with staff to provide accurate billings to Owners in accordance with contract terms.
  • Review project expenses to ensure accurate posting to projects.
  • Reconcile cost data between project cost ledgers and accounting systems.
  • Develop, manage and maintain cost controls and labor recaps in conjunction with the Project Manager and Project Superintendent.
  • Assist with monthly Margin Analysis and maintenance of Cash Flow Forecast.
  • Assist with monthly reporting for Senior Management and Owner.
