The Sales Representative is a full-time position located in the Redwood Falls, MN area. This position is responsible for selling food products, tobacco products, general merchandise, and health and beauty products to retail stores, grocers, restaurants, hotels, along with several merchandising duties.
You are paid salary plus commission, full benefits, and the use of a company car.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Travels through assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders; demonstrate or sample product and emphasize salable features.
Recommends products to customers based on customer’s needs.
Works with Inside Sales Representatives to keep account activity up to date.
Effectively plans and organizes to complete job duties successfully, meeting annual Sales Metrics.
Develops and maintains relationships with customers.
Assist with layout plans for stores and maintain/update store shelf tags that align with companies and customers expectations.
Maintains professionalism, diplomacy, understanding and courtesy to represent the organization with a good reputation.
Maintain accurate records, including expense reports and personal mileage forms.
Receives, investigates, and helps to resolve customer problems.
Submits ideas for company growth, employee welfare, operational efficiencies, and improvements to management team.
Attends scheduled meetings and training events.
QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. An individual must possess the ability to communicate and interact respectfully and positively with subordinates, peers, executives, owners, and customers. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE One to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, customer contracts, and procedure manuals.
MATHMATICAL SKILLS Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, commissions, and percentages.
REASONING ABILITY Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
COMPUTER SKILLS Must have ability to work in Microsoft Office for emailing, creating Word documents, and entering data in a spreadsheet.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Must possess a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driver’s record.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES This job requires occasional overnight travel.
