Henry's Diner is searching for a mature lead / head host who can work 20-30 or more hours per week. Previous team leader experience is required.

Ultimately this position will require training new hosts and leading the host team. Starting pay will be based on experience.

Seeking a self-starter with multi-tasking skills that will thrive in a fast-paced environment. We are open from 6 am to 2 pm daily.

Shift hours 830-3 pm. Retirees are encouraged to apply!

The main function of a host is to facilitate the prompt and accurate seating and service of all guests. Accept payment for food and beverages and able to make correct changes.

Be able to meet and greet guests in a friendly manner, making them feel welcome and comfortable in our dining room, and have the ability to prioritize and maintain control with a smile as pressure arises.

We do everything the old-fashioned way. No POS system here.

Physical Requirements :

• Able to work under variable temperatures and noise levels.
• Ability to stand or walk for lengthy periods of time without sitting.
• Excellent communication skills.

Host team leader responsibilities :

• Warm greetings to all guests upon arrival. Seat guests based on guest preferences and balance customer flow.
• Check tables for cleanliness, seat guests, and provide menus.
• Answer the telephone.
• Take to-go orders and pack them up.
• Keep a waitlist when tables are not available.
• Able to operate a cash register accurately, process credit card payments and cash handling.
• Help bus, clean, and sanitize tables.
• Relay messages to servers as needed.
• Cash handling experience.
• Prior experience closing out and balancing daily sales.
• Maintain a clean dining room.
