Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine is Hiring a Recruiter Near Bethesda, MD

Join the HJF Team!

HJF is seeking a Recruiter II to work under the general direction of the Recruiting Manager. This job serves as resource for and provides guidance to hiring managers regarding the recruitment of staff and adherence to employment laws and regulations. This position will be in support of the Human Resources Recruiting Department.

The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine (HJF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing military medicine. We serve military, medical, academic and government clients by administering, managing and supporting preeminent scientific programs that benefit members of the armed forces and civilians alike. Since its founding in 1983, HJF has served as a vital link between the military medical community and its federal and private partners. HJF's support and administrative capabilities allow military medical researchers and clinicians to maintain their scientific focus and accomplish their research goals.

Responsibilities

  • Relationship Development:
  • Proactively provide accurate and timely communications with hiring managers and candidates throughout the recruiting process ensuring a top-notch candidate experience.
  • Foster and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external recruiting partners.
  • Sourcing & Recruiting:
  • Perform full lifecycle recruiting.
  • Develop and execute proactive and creative sourcing strategies.
  • Work closely with Hiring Managers to understand specific hiring needs.
  • Write and/or proofread job descriptions and manage all online job postings.
  • Attend regular meetings to provide partners with candidate updates and new hire tracking information.
  • Coordinate and conduct initial phone screens with candidates to ensure eligibility and suitability.
  • Maintain accurate records and notes in ATS (applicant tracking system) for candidates and requisitions.
  • Beyond filling positions:
  • Operate with a sense of urgency and the ability to prioritize, organize, and manage time effectively and efficiently.
  • Drive process improvement, strategy, and development across our business.
  • Foster a collaborative team environment and a strong service-oriented culture.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Communications, or related field is required. Relevant experience may be considered a substitute for education.
  • 3 years of recruiting experience. 1 years of government contract recruiting experience preferred.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Full lifecycle recruiting experience to include sourcing, screening, interview coordination, and offer extension.
  • Experience working with various recruiting tools and systems. Experience with iCIMS Recruiting Module and/or Oracle Fusion is a major plus.
  • Strategic sourcing knowledge via Boolean search strings.
  • Familiarity with hiring laws and compliance including AA, OFCCP.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to build relationships. Ability to interact professionally with all levels within the organization.
  • Team oriented personality and the ability to collaborate with colleagues, employees, managers, and leaders.
  • Ability to exercise judgement and discretion but knows when to escalate and ask for assistance.
  • Work independently and be a contributing and positive part of the talent acquisition team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, problem-solving, decision-making, and time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

Work Environment

  • Primarily telework with the expectation to report on-site twice/month and as needed for meetings.

Some positions or sites may require that the incumbent be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Proof of vaccination may be required.

Employment with HJF is contingent upon successful completion of a background check, which may include, but is not limited to, contacting your professional references, verification of previous employment, education and credentials, a criminal background check, and a department of motor vehicle (DMV) check if applicable.
